Issues Faced With Communication Overload

In today's world there are many forms of communication that can be used. From formal letters to a text message. Since there is such a vast majorly of technology being used is it possible to have an overload of information? Between the hundreds of e-mails, memos, voice calls, and many other communications, many people find it difficult to sort out the important and relevant information. Companies face issues with communication overload every day.

Communication overload is not only being caused by the maximum limit, but also by filters created can cause data to be placed into an incorrect folder. With text messaging once the in box is full you are missing new text that could be of urgent nature.

A case study shows that place-based digital signage has a 63% chance of catching the attention of adults. It also states that 58% believe it to be a unique way of advertising and informative. Digital signage has the highest rating of advertising and is ever 2% above television.

While constantly being able to be contacted is great for business, when is enough; enough? In today's world employees are feeling more and more pressure from communication overload. Can a company put a limit on the amount of communication overload? What are the risk caused by allowing employees to feel stressed every time they open their in box and see new message. Is their any solutions to lower the amount of communication over load or will it get worse the more technology advances?
