1. Research. It really doesn't matter how knowledgeable you in the field of selling or marketing. Subscribe to relevant RSS feeds, check out relevant online and offline resources on a daily basis, attend relevant seminars, and work closely with industry leaders. 2. Know the unique needs and demands of your target market. Although you are serving people with the same goal (boost their sales), these individuals surely need different information and assistance. Let me give you an example; companies who are selling through telemarketing require different training programs compare to those who are doing business online, right? So, it's a must that you get to know the nature of the business and their learning needs before you even design your sales training programs. It's also important that you build rapport with these people first before you start the first training session so they'll feel more comfortable in working with you.
3. Create your training modules. Depending on the skill level of the people that you are serving, you can create modules designed for beginners, intermediate level, or those who have already advanced sales skills. Make sure that the information you share compliment their skill level to make your programs more focused to their needs and demands.
4. Question and answer portion. Meet with your trainees at least once a week to address questions and concerns especially if you are offering email or video based training programs where your clients cannot ask their questions in real time. Make sure that you give them the most appropriate answers.
5. Feedback. Make it a habit to send your clients with surveys or questionnaires at the end of each training session. Ask them if they find the session useful, easy to understand, and valuable. Depending on the comments and suggestions, you might need to do some improvements to make sure that you'll be able to better serve your future clients.
